On Sunday Lexa was off to Grandma and Papa's house for two whole nights all by herself. This was the first time Lexa went away all by herself and she had a blast. No separation anxiety at all (at least not from her). As a matter of fact, she wanted to stay longer but we missed her too much and insisted that she come home. Grandma, Papa, and Sammi were such wonderful hosts. They went out on the boat three times, went to the toy store (aka The Dollar Tree), out to eat, to the pool twice, to the playground, to the boardwalk in Little Washington, to the estuary to see all the turtles and fish, putting on the golf course, and to Deadwood (a sort of amusement park/restaurant). Did we remember everything? Lexa kept them running and we are pretty sure they slept very well the night Lexa came home, we know Lexa did. What a wonderful time Lexa had.
We were able to get a lot done around the house while she was gone. We replaced the shutters on the house (they are now green instead of that maroon/pinkish color, this was Mikes dream since we moved here 7 years ago). We also painted the cinder block under the house and the shed to match, painted the front door to match the shutters and power washed the entire house. We never could have done all of this if Lexa were here. She is a ball of energy and likes to go, go, go, which is not very conducive to home projects.
Thank you so much Grandma and Papa. Thank you from Mike and Darcy for giving us some time to get some much needed projects done and thank you from Lexa for making this past weekend so wonderfully fun. Thank you for all the wonderful pictures too. Lexa explained each of them to us. We can't wait to do it again, but we will give you time to recover first.

Getting ready to go to Grandma and Papa's. She is so excited.
We met Grandma and Papa 1/2 way. Here we
are waiting for them by the big bear. Lexa is holding
a feather she found on the ground (yuck).
Grandma and Lexa feeding the fish at Deadwood
Lexa riding the Donkey at Deadwood. She reports that she
could not get on all by herself and needed some help.
Lexa on the playground at Deadwood. It was a HUGE
playground with everything you could think of.
Lexa on the merry-go-round at Deadwood. She also rode
a roller coaster for the first time, but the picture did not
make the cut for the blog.
Lexa getting ready for a ride on Papa's boat. Apparently she
asked to switch boats and piked out a small yacht at the end
of the pier. The girl has good taste.
Papa and Lexa at the pool
Lexa and Sami hanging out on the couch. Lexa is surrounded
by all her new toys from the trip to the Dollar Tree. Lexa
also explained to us that she is eating some "peanut butter with
cracker on it".
Lexa and Sammi, BFF.
Lexa trying on Grandma's Jacks Hat. She reported that
Grandma was wearing the Ball Hat (the hats are for some
special golf tournament).
