Lexa also enjoyed having Sammy around and played with him every day when she returned home from Ms. Gail's house. She especially gets a kick out of Sammy when he gets wild and runs like crazy around the house. Lexa even learned to enjoy Sammy's constant biting of her slippers and toys. We are happy to report that not one toy was destroyed by Sammy this week (in the past this was not the story).
The one who probably would prefer if Sammy never existed is poor Smokey. She spent most of the week outside staring in because we did not want Sammy to get hurt. Sammy is a good dog, but not the brightest, and does not get the concept of sharp claws. Smokey is a very street-smart cat and can hold her own with Cozmo, so you can imagine what she could do to Sammy. Buy the end of the week the two of them had come to an understanding and we are glad there are not any injuries to report.
We also celebrated Uncle Erics birthday two weekends ago at the Texas Roadhouse (29 again , right Eric?). Last weekend, when Grandma and Papa Lou returned from vacation, we got together again with the Surratt Pack for some more family playtime.
This Friday is the first dance class and Lexa is beside herself with excitement.
Enjoy the pictures and movies. Cozmo and Sammy are so fun to watch (we probably took 50 little movies and it was hard to decide which ones to post). There has been a request for more pics of the adults (from Uncle Dave) and we are trying but we are not as cute a Lexa and the animals.

Smokey on her perch outside.
Lexa spent most of the week on the floor with Sammy, often pretending to be a dog too.
Lexa and Sammy playing with the Chalk.
Playtime at the beginning of the week. This is Sammy's safe place, under Cozmo. This way Cozmo can't pin him down.
Sammy and Cozmo playing at the end of the week. Notice Cozmo laying down. This is because Sammy wore him out all week.
Lexa in a tunnel at the playground
Lexa wanted to stand where Grandma and Papa live. She found it all by herself (we have shown her before, but she remembered!)
Darcy and Lexa going down the slide. Did you hear Darcy scream? No wonder Lexa is scared to go by herself.

Hello Umstead Family! What wonderful news about Shawn! God is good! Thanks for the updates and the great photos. I have finally found the time to get caught up with you. I love Darcy's new preschool--might be a fun place for Cousin Ian someday should his Mommy and Daddy move closer to Mechanicsville. Don't know about Grandma and Papa having a warm week in Florida--we've been freezing down here!!! Have a good week ya'll. Look forward to more news, updates, and photos!
