Shuffle Hop Step

Lexa loves to dance. We have always known this but did not realize the depth of her love until this past weekend. Last Saturday we met Tracy and Riley at the mall to purchase ballet and tap shoes for the girls in preparation for a dance class they will be taking in March. Afterwards we went to Target to purchase some new leotards. Lexa was so excited about the new leotards, she practically stripped naked in the cart to try them on. Fortunately we were able to deter her until we got into the dressing room where she eagerly tried on all the leotards and ultimately chose the blue one with a skirt. When we arrived home she insisted on trying on everything and preformed for the camera several times. Since then she has practiced, played, and slept in her ballet and/or tap shoes.

Last Monday Darcy, Lexa, Aunt Tracy, Uncle Eric, Riley, and Kyle went to see the Greatest Show on Earth. This was Lexa's first trip to the circus and she thoroughly enjoyed it. She tried cotton candy for the first time and also enjoyed some chicken tenders and popcorn. When you ask Lexa what her favorite part of the circus was she usually states "the elephants" or the " the tigers", but during the show she seemed to enjoy the funny antics of the clowns the most.

Today, Lexa stayed home with Mike and they took Cozmo to the vet for his annual checkup. They also tried to fly a mini kite (see picture below, it is a really tiny kite), but apparently Lexa found it too frustrating and prefers to fly the big kites.

Grandma and Papa are coming to visit tomorrow and Lexa has been pretending to talk to them on the phone all evening; making plans and letting them know what they are going to do together for the next few days.
