Running Water

Another busy few weeks in the books. A few weeks ago Lexa started a new sport, T-Ball. Unfortunately, we forgot to prepare her by teaching some basics, like throwing a ball. The coach was a saint and spent some extra time with the Lexa. She missed the first game two weekends ago, due to vacation, but was able to play in yesterday's T-ball game. Lexa does very well with hitting and running, but playing the outfield is more like playing in a sandbox for her. She pays no attention to the game or the ball. Sort of the way Darcy was at that age. They don't actually keep score at this age, it is just about the experience, but we are pretty sure our team lost. It was very entertaining to watch though.
Two weeks ago we went on vacation to Emerald Isle. We had a wonderful time even though we only had a few sunny days. Lexa is definitely a beach girl. Always ready to play in the sand and water no matter what the weather. We enjoyed great food, great company, a trip to Cape Lookout on Papas boat, and a fun night of making tye-dyed shirts. The grownups were able to get out a night too, but other than that there was a lot of hanging out in the house and on the beach. Thank you so much for such a wonderful vacation Grandma and Papa!
Lexa continues to love her new school, but especially loves the two days a weel she is with Aunt Tracy, Riley, and Kyle. She would probably prefer to live with them too. It is her ultimate favorite place to be.
On to the pictures.

Lexa looking very professional waiting for a grounder.

First time hitting a ball with a bat.

Dinner time on vacation.

Playing in the sand

Beautiful afternoon.

Getting ready to look for shells on one of the many islands
off the coast

Walking to the beach at Cape Lookout.

Lexa and Riley on the boat heading to Cape Lookout

Looking for crabs at night. We did not see any this year.

What a beautiful scene

First practice and first time at bat. 7 other kids bat

before her and all ran to first base, but Lexa had other

ideas of where to run, straight to the middle of the field

to the fence. She is an independent spirit!

Running on the beach and so happy to be there.
