Spring Snow

We finally got that snow storm that we have been dreaming about all winter, unfortunately it came just when we were ready for Spring. The official count was 8 inches, but some drifts were as deep as a foot. Needless to say, the entire Richmond Metro Area shut down for an entire day and a half. Darcy had Monday off work and a delay on Tuesday, but poor Mike had to work because he is considered essential personnel. His trip to work usually takes about 30 min. but on the way in on Sunday evening it took a little over an hour and on Monday morning it took him over 3 hours to drive back home.
Lexa loved everything about the snow. She loved making snow angels and snow princesses, sledding down a very small makeshift hill, and eating snow cones (literally). Not only was this Lexa's first big snow storm, it was also Sammi's first snow and he loved it too.
Then came spring, well more like summer. This past weekend it was 80 degrees and we all enjoyed playing on the swing set and some bike riding. It was a bit of a tease though because it is cool again and those weather people are predicting some mixed precipitation this weekend.
Lexa continues to love dance class and is even learning some ballet steps and their official names, which we will not try to list here because the spelling would surely be atrocious and spell check probably would not recognize the attempt at the words.

Making one of many snow angels.

Attempting to make a snow man on the back deck, but the
snow wasn't packing yet.
Day three and the snow finally packed well enough to build
a Snow Princess.

Sammi's first snow. As you can see Cozmo loves snow too.
He loves to rub his head and nose in the snow.
